The Difference between BOSIET and T-BOSIET The difference between T-BOSIET and BOSIET is the T-BOSIET is designed for tropical climates, i.e. warm water such as here in the Arabian Gulf, the Far East, Malaysia etc.
Can you fail BOSIET?
Is it possible to fail the offshore survival course, or any others? Yes, very rarely delegates do not meet the requirements to receive their certification at the end of a course.
What is CA EBS?
A CA-EBS course gives the required knowledge and understanding of the particular hazards and properties of a CA-EBS and appropriate practical emergency response actions to take should the requirement for emergency deployment arise.
Do you need mist to go offshore?
There are no prerequisites for OPITO Minimum Industry Safety Training (MIST). However for delegates working offshore it is expected that OPITO MIST will be completed after OPITO Basic Offshore Safety and Emergency Induction Training (BOSIET) to enable training providers to build on the knowledge previously attained.
What do you wear to a BOSIET?
Valid Passport for proof of identity. Valid in date OG/UK Medical certificate….Please bring the following on the first day:
- Towel and toiletries.
- Clothing (tee shirt and shorts/ tracksuit bottoms) suitable to wear under immersion suit and fire suit.
- Waterproof bag to carry wet clothing.
What is a Bosiet course?
BOSIET stands for Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training. This is one of the courses that you need to start working offshore anywhere in the world, the course is a recognised offshore oil/gas standard. BOSIET is the course that provides the famous helicopter underwater emergency training (HUET training)
What is the difference between Bosiet and oguk medical?
The BOSIET course (formally RGIT) is the 3 day course you need to work offshore in oil and gas. MIST is the 2 day training course you need to work on a plant/refinery/offshore oil and gas industry. The OGUK medical is what you need to certify that you are in a safe physical condition to work.
Who can apply for T-Bosiet training?
Personnel who have not done any previous T-BOSIET training. Personnel who work in tropical warm water areas. A valid or current offshore medical, or possess an operator approved medical, or undergo OPITO medical screening form in SEQU. Personnel who have not done any previous T-BOSIET training. Personnel who work in tropical warm water areas.
How long is the Bosiet Certification valid for?
