Does Canvas know if you screenshot?
As far as I know, no, it doesn’t record if a student took a screen shot or not. The best way to confirm this is to contact Canvas Support and see what they have to say. You can do this by going to the quiz log in question and then clicking on the Help link (bottom left) and Report a Problem.
Can Gradescope track your IP address?

They can’t track what you’re viewing, but they can check if you’re viewing the test and if you’ve clicked out of the test. Theoretically you’d have zero reason to leave the test at all. Also, instructors can look at your canvas profile and see if you open it with another device.

I’ve answered this question already on another thread and yes, they can. They have special software that enables them to see what is happening on the computer and take it over if need be. More likely, the school has software enabled that monitors browsing history and flags suspicious sites for someone to review.

As the teacher, locate your assignment folder in GDrive. Right click and open sharing options. Choose OFF, then SAVE. This way, my students can only see their own work and no one else’s.

Instructors can see certain activity such as: time started/stopped an exam or quiz, total time spent on the exam/quiz, date/time stamps on assignments, time spent in the course and last login. Administrators can see everything down to page views, the dates and times each page was accessed and the browser you used.
