Are JBA headers worth it?
JBA are good quality, just check that they fit. Call Dustin Williams at JBA to get correct install instructions. Make sure you center the engine between frame rails. Otherwise you’ll end up with the steering knuckle hitting the headers.
Do you need a tune after shorty headers?
Shorty headers are not enough of an aspiration change to require a tune, unless you are removing the catalytic converters at the same time.
Do shorty headers affect sound?
Compared to your stock exhaust manifold, shorty headers still have a much longer tube. Unequal length headers offer a deeper rumbling sound and a little more low-end torque, but equal length headers offer greater performance gains consistently.
Do shorty headers add horsepower?
For shorty headers, the port pipes actually merge into a single exhaust pipe in a much shorter distance. Longer port pipes result in lower exhaust back pressure. This means improved oxygen intake and a boost in horsepower.
How much HP does shorty headers add?
The headers will give you 8 to 15 additional HP gains, and come packaged with gaskets and the hardware needed for installation. Performance-tuned and engine-matched with performance gains at the lower to midrange RPM highway speeds.
Do shorty headers make car louder?
But will it improve the sound of your car?! To put it simply – yes, an exhaust header will slightly improve the sound of your car. Exhaust headers are wider and thinner when compared the stock system. These characteristics allow the sound vibrations to flow better and exit the car – allowing for a louder sound.
Does shorty headers really make difference?
For shorty headers, the port pipes actually merge into a single exhaust pipe in a much shorter distance. Because of this, each design impacts back pressure in the exhaust system in a different way. Longer port pipes result in lower exhaust back pressure. This means improved oxygen intake and a boost in horsepower.
