Where can I borrow eBooks for free?
Some websites let you download or borrow e-books for free for a limited amount of time. Amazon’s BookLending.com and Lendle let you borrow and lend Kindle titles for 14 days. You can get free e-books to keep forever at Open Library, Project Gutenberg, Free-ebooks.net and Google’s Reader Store.
How do I download eBooks from my local library?
Step 1 of 3: Borrow an eBook from your public library
- Go to your public library’s website.
- Look for the “eBooks” section of the page.
- If required, select OverDrive as the service that you’d like to use to browse books.
- Find a book that you’re interested in and click Borrow.
How do I download ebooks from the library?
Your library’s sign-in page may look different from the one below. Sign in to your library account using your library card number and PIN (if required). The book will be added to the Bookshelf page. Click the Download (EPUB eBook) button beside the book that you’d like to download.

How big is the new Fife library?
The new Fife Library opened Dec. 3, 2011. 6,000 square foot library. Meeting room – View availability. Wireless Internet access available. 25,000 books, DVDs, audiobooks and other materials. 19 computers. 56 seats in public meeting room. 2 conference rooms.
How do I request books from the library?
You can request books from our online catalogue. You’ll need your library card number and PIN to make a request. If you can’t remember your card number or PIN, just contact your local library and one of our staff will help you out. We have reopened the Archives search room in the Collections Centre at Bankhead.
How do I borrow books from Libby?
In Libby, follow the prompts to find your library and sign in with a valid library card. Browse your library’s collection and borrow a title. Borrowed titles appear under Shelf > Loans and download to the app automatically when you’re on Wi-Fi, so you can read them when you’re offline.
How do I access e-books and e-audio?
You can access e-books, e-audio and e-magazine using Libby! To get started, follow the steps in the Getting Started with Libby Guide or watch the video below. If playback doesn’t begin shortly, try restarting your device. Videos you watch may be added to the TV’s watch history and influence TV recommendations.
