When did Woking Lido close?
1984
Woking attracted thousands of families with its open air pool in Woking Park in the 60s and 70s. It closed in 1984 and was replaced by the Pool in the Park, which is a firm favourite among Woking residents.
When was Woking Leisure Centre built?
1976
The Leisure Centre opened in 1976 and is accessed via a pedestrian bridge over a small river. It has a number of sports facilities, including 6 squash courts, a new state-of the art gym overlooking the park gym, three fitness studios, a dedicated Spinning (indoor cycling) studio and two halls.

When was Guildford Lido built?
21st June 1933
The Lido cost £13,700 to build and was officially opened on 21st June 1933, by the Mayor, William Harvey, who was the first person to dive in (pictured above) and take a swim. On that day 8,000 people packed into the Lido.
When was pool in the park Woking built?
1989: The main pool of what is now the Pool in the Park swimming complex was opened. Three years later in 1992 the leisure lagoon was opened.
